March 01 Back on trackWell thanks to being out of town and on a extremly busy schedule I got off track on my workout routine. I was fairly good on what I ate. But it was tough since at times we didn't have a regular eating time. But now that both of us are back in town things are doing good. I really can't wait for the weather to warm up since I really enjoy riding my bike more than anything. Due to different injuries years ago running can be somewhat painful. Then again if I had some good trails to run on I think I would do alot better. So hopefully by next month things will clear up enough for me to start riding the bike atleast. February 04 Another Week Another PoundWell, another week has gone by and I managed to lose just over a pound and Josh lost a pound. I was pretty happy since I had been stuck in my weight and I finally managed to lose a little. I am also excited about next week since I need to go to Florida and I just found out we will be on the beach so I am going to try to run everyday or rent a bike to ride around on my free time. But I am going to work so we will see how much time I will really have to do things. Keeping track of what I eat will be the real challenge. So I have this week to really push myself so we shall see how that goes. January 30 Running AgainWell, I have started to run again. Granted it is in my husbands dojo so it is a lot of laps but it feels good. I use to love running and that is how I use to stay in shape but in the Marines we ran many formation runs and I hate them with a passion and I just near broke my ankle one day so after that it was painfull to run. Well thanks to martial arts my ankle is finally stronger and running doesn't really bother me. So I am excited that I can get back into it. I just wish it would warm up so I could do it outside and also ride my bike again. I got bit into that during the end of the summer and managed to lose 10 pounds doing that.
What is also helping me is that due to the season and where I work I have a lot of time off for the next couple of months so it makes it easy to watch what I eat. I am a line cook and so when the season is busy and in a 12 hour day you don't take a break it is hard to eat right. Normally eat at night and it's leftovers. Well in the next few weeks I have to go out of town for work for a week. Not sure what that is going to do to my workout schedule and eating style. Just got to hope I can stick to it as much as possible.
So I am really pushing myself with my workout schedule this week and next to make sure I get in a good rhythme. January 28 Biggest LoserWell to say the least my husband and myself are hoping to lose the weight we gained after we left the Marine Corps. His hopes are to lose another 10 to 15 pounds and mine are to lose about 35 pounds. A few months ago I managed to lose about 10 pounds. Since last year he has lost 50 pounds. So lately we have been working on changing how we eat. It hasn't been to bad. I don't crave junk food anymore and have just about eliminated soda from my diet. Before winter set in I use to ride my bike about 30 miles a week depending on the work week and my husband has been teaching Shotokan Karate about full time. Since winter has set in and the cold has kept me from spending as much time outside I now train with my husband about 3 times a week and that has been helping. So needless to say we are working on it and are happy about living a healthy lifestyle and with somemore work hope to lose combined about 50 pounds. Hopefully we will meet other couples with the same goal and with encouragement from others will make our goal. |
